My family has been waiting for 50 years to return to Flamoudi, the village from which they were expelled during the Turkish-Cypriot War. The house and the land, which I will one day inherit, have since been occupied by Turkish families.
As a French-Cypriot, I decided to take a trip to the island, to Flamoudi, with the goal of deciding whether I should give up these lands and this village, or whether I should also keep alive the hope of recovering this lost Eden.
